For Our Guests

Our front desk is open from 7am – 12pm and 4pm – 9pm.
Upon check-in, guests must provide a credit card and photo ID. Credit Card will be authorized at check-in, then payment is processed at check-out.
No walk-ins permitted. All reservations must be made in advance.
Check-in time: 4pm Check-out time: 11am
SSTR is a non-smoking/non-vaping hostel. Designated smoking area is available outside.
We do not allow outside linens in any guest rooms or communal areas.
No outside guests will be permitted.
ADA Service Dogs are the only animal permitted for overnight stays, provided they meet ADA Service Dog requirements. Responsibility for each dog falls to the guest with whom the reservation is under.
We will charge $50 for any additional cleanup required by staff, resulting from guest behavior. We will also assess any damage done and charge accordingly.
A parent or legal guardian must accompany any guest under 18.

Maximum stay is 14 nights in a 12-month period.
We charge $20 for lost FOBs, $10 for lost keys.
Luggage should be locked in room. Lockers will be provided in shared rooms for smaller items. Locks are not provided, please bring one with you.
Alcohol is permitted. Drunkenness is not. Guests must be 21 to consume alcohol on SSTR’s premises, and staff has the right to ID anyone at any time.
Drug use on the premises is strictly prohibited.
No food or drink is permitted inside bunk rooms.
Quiet hours from 11pm – 7am are enforced for the comfort of other guests. Please be respectful.
Any guests who, in the opinion of our staff, compromises the comfort, safety and/or security of other guests, staff and/or property, or otherwise violate our policies, will be asked to leave the hostel without a refund.
No-shows/Cancellations less than 24 hours before date of check-in will be charged the full amount of the reservation.
Guest information will not be sold to, or shared with, any third party.

As the only hostel in Pittsburgh, we offer private rooms and shared rooms for our guests to reserve.

South Side Traveler’s Rest is the only hostel in Pittsburgh and offers both shared rooms and private rooms.
